Cabbage Soup Diet Recipe

Vegetable soups are rich in vitamins and minerals and very similar is the case with cabbage soup. This is also called cabbage soup diet as it is a common thinking and understanding that cabbage soup helps in loosing weight since it aids in burning fats. You must have seen banners indicating seven day cabbage soup diet plan on something similar to this . But the fact is that it can be taken when ever you feel like and it doesn’t taste too bad either.
Ingredients:
6 large green onions
2 green peppers (chopped)
3 tomatoes (take out seed part and cut into cubes)
3 Carrots (julienne thick)
1 Container Mushrooms (diced)
½ head of cabbage (cut in medium size)
4 cups chicken stock
8 cups V8 juice
Salt as required
Pepper as required
Parsley as required
2 tspn garlic powder

Preparation:

1. Cut onions in circular shape of thick slices.
2. Put all the vegetables in a soup pot except tomatoes.
3. Now add chicken stock and V8 juice in the vegetables. Let vegetables cook on low heat.
4. When vegetables are half done, add tomatoes in it and cook for at least 40mins till all vegetables become completely tender.
5. After that add some seasoning to it according to your taste.

Best Chicken Salad Sandwich

There are lots of ways to prepare sandwich some require the use of a sandwich maker while some sandwiches are not to be toasted specially the ones with mayo filling . Its a common mayo chicken spread sandwich and is very easy to make but you can try different varieties of sandwiches and stick to the one that best suits your taste.
Ingredients:
1 cup boil chicken (shredded)
¾ cup mayonnaise
½ cup cream cheese
½ tspn black pepper freshly crushed (using a wooden pepper mill)
½ tspn white pepper
Pinch of salt
1/2 tspn sugar
1 boil egg (cut into small pieces)
½ tspn mustard paste (optional)
Bread slices as required.

Preparation:
1. Mix all the above ingredients well; mayonnaise, cream cheese, black pepper, white pepper, chicken, boil egg, mustard paste, salt and sugar.
2. Cut the sides of bread slices and make triangle shapes.
3. Now take one triangle piece and coat the chicken mixture on it,put a salad leaf, and tomato slice if you like and cover it with other triangle piece.
4. Similarly, make other sandwich like this.
Servings:
Serve the delicious and healthy chicken salad sandwich with ketchup.

 

Fried Rice Recipe

It’s very famous vegetable fried rice ,very healthy rice food, full of nutrition, originated from Chinese Cuisine and its also called Chinese Rice.There are lots of ways to prepare fried rice, this is one of the methods to cook it with little spices and can serve as a rice meal. Choose the best rice available for this recipe.

Ingredients:
½ Kg rice
½ cup cabbage chopped
½ cup carrot chopped
½ cup capsicum chopped
½ cup spring onion
½ cup boil shredded chicken (optional)
Salt to taste
1 tspn black pepper freshly crushed using a pepper mill
1 tspn white pepper
1 tbpsn soya sauce
1 tbspn chili sauce
1 tbspn Worcestershire sauce
1 tpsn oyster sauce
1 tspn Chinese salt
3 tbspn oil
 
Preparation:
1. In a deep pan heat oil and add cabbage, carrot and capsicum in it. Stir for 2-3 minute on high heat
2. Add all spices in it (salt, pepper and sauces) and cook for 5-10 minutes until all spices are mix well and water has been dried.
3. Then add spring onion and chicken and stir. Remove pan from stove.
4. Boil rice (you can also use chicken stock to boil rice it will be more tasty) and let it cool so that all the steam took out (evaporate) from the rice.
5. Add rice to the vegetable mixture on high heat and stir well for 5 minutes. Serving:
Dish out fried rice and serve with any curry like beef curry.

KFC Chicken Recipe

Fried chicken is a popular item specially at fast food restaurants and when we talk about KFC food , the first thing that comes in mind is their yummy chicken . All age people like this crispy fried chicken. It is very easy to cook at home because it requires very little spices. To make this exactly like KFC’s chicken , we can coat the chicken pieces in flour and then fry the chicken . Detailed instructions and list of ingredients are below
Ingredients:
1 Chicken breast (make 4 thin slices of it)
1 cup rice flour
1 cup corn flour
½ cup plane flour
1 tspn mustard powder
1 tspn black pepper
1 tspn salt
½ tspn Chinese salt
1 tspn chicken powder
1 tspn baking powder
2 eggs
Oil for deep frying

Preparation:

1. In a bowl mix well rice flour, plane flour, corn flour, mustard powder, salt, pepper, Chinese salt, baking powder and chicken powder ( best way is to cover the bowl and shake it well).
2. Marinate the chicken slices in vinegar pepper and salt and leave for 10 minutes.
3. In a separate bowl beat eggs, now fold the chicken slice in flour mixture, then in egg and again in flour mixture and leave for 2 minutes so that all the flour dust settle on the chicken slice.
4. Heat the oil gently in deep frying pan and fry the chicken slices till it become golden brown and crust forms on it.
Serving:
Present it with tomato ketchup and chili garlic sauce and fries. You can also try my KFC cole slaw recipe and it tastes really nice with this recipe .
Tip: Double coating with flour is necessary to make crust on the chicken.

French Bread Pizza

Bread can be used to make quick and easy pizza since pizza (with dough) takes too much time when baked at home. Bread pizza also tastes like baked pizza as pizza topping remains same according to your flavor and taste. You can also make changes in this french bread pizza recipe as you like .

Ingredients: 

2 green bell pepper(s) de-seeded and finely chopped
1 onion(s) finely chopped
2 green chillies finely chopped (optional)
8 slices of bread
8 tablespoons tomato sauce
8 tablespoons grated cheese
Salt to taste
Butter to grease the pan

Preparation:
1. Make a mixture of all the vegetables; green bell pepper,onions, green chilies and boiled chicken.
2. Put the mixture on the bread slices, add some tomato sauce and grated cheese on it.
3. Grease the pan with butter, place the sandwich on the pan and cook it till its both sides become light brown and cheese starts to melt.
4. You can also bake it in the oven for few minutes (no need to use the second bread for top layer) until all the cheese melts and become light golden.

Garlic Bread Recipe

Almost every bread has the same recipe but their different shapes and use of different flour make every bread different from each other like French bread, brown bread, white bread, etc. Garlic bread is just made by adding fresh garlic flavor to a bread. It can be used as breakfast bread but usually served with soups or with butter.
Ingredients:
4 tablespoons melted butter
4 garlic flakes finely chopped and crushed
1 teaspoon(s) dried oregano leaves
8 French loaf slices
 
Preparation:
1. Make a mixture of chopped garlic, butter and oregano.
2. Coat each side of the French loaf with the mixture and place the slices in the oven for 6 minutes at 200oC/390oF to become crispy and light golden in color.

Fried Bread Recipe

Fried bread are of different types; some are shallow fried bread also called “paratha” and some are deep fried. In south Asian cuisine deep fried bread are called “kachori”. It can also be made by using different filling like spicy lentils filling, meat filling, potato filling etc.
Ingredients:
3 cup plain flour
1 tbspn melted butter (ghee)
Salt to taste
2 tbspn yogurt
Water as required
Oil for deep frying
Preparation:
1. Mix flour, salt and butter in a bowl so that little crumbs of flour are formed.
2. Add yogurt in the flour and mix.
3. Knead the flour using water to make dough, make sure the dough is quite hard as compare to normal dough (if you press finger on it would not easily go inside to make hole otherwise your bread will not rise).
4. Make small balls of around 2-3 cm size and make it bigger (approx. 3 times the size of ball) by rolling with wooden bread roller, make sure that bread should not be very thin.
5. In deep pan heat oil for deep frying on very high flame, put the rolled bread into it and stir it. Take out from the oil after turning it little brown.

Piri-Piri Chicken

Piri-piri chicken is a spicy dish with roots in both Africa and Portugal. The dish was created in Angola and Mozambique when Portuguese settlers arrived with chile peppers (known as piri-piri in Swahili). Timing note: The chicken needs to marinate for at least four hours before being grilled.

Ingredients:

Glaze:
3 tablespoons butter
3 tablespoons chopped fresh cilantro
2 garlic cloves, minced
2 tablespoons piri-piri sauce or other hot pepper sauce
2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
Chicken:

1/4 cup chopped fresh cilantro
1 2-inch piece fresh ginger, peeled, thinly sliced
1 large shallot, peeled, quartered
3 garlic cloves, peeled
1/2 cup piri-piri sauce or other hot pepper sauce
1/4 cup extra-virgin olive oil plus additional for brushing
1/4 cup fresh lemon juice
1 teaspoon coarse kosher salt
1 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
1 3 1/2- to 4-pound chicken, backbone removed, opened flat
1 11 3/4 x 8 1/2 x 1 1/4-inch disposable aluminum baking pan (to catch drips)
Ingredient info: Bottled piri-piri sauce is available at specialty foods stores and online from africantradingco.com. Choose the heat level that suits you, keeping in mind that the mild version still has a nice kick to it.

Preparation: 

For glaze:
Melt butter in small saucepan over medium-high heat. Add cilantro and garlic; cook until garlic begins to brown, about 2 minutes. Add piri-piri sauce and lemon juice. Reduce heat to medium-low; simmer 2 minutes. DO AHEAD: Glaze can be made up to 1 day ahead. Cover and chill. Rewarm before using.
For chicken:
Finely chop cilantro, ginger, shallot, and garlic in processor. Add piri-piri sauce, 1/4 cup oil, lemon juice, coarse salt, and pepper; process marinade to blend.
Place chicken, skin side up, on work surface. Using palm of hand, press on breastbone to flatten chicken. Tuck wing tips under. Pour half of marinade into 11x7x2-inch glass baking dish. Open chicken like book; place skin side down in single layer in dish. Pour remaining marinade over. Cover; chill at least 4 hours or overnight, turning chicken occasionally.
Remove top rack from barbecue. Prepare barbecue (medium heat). If using 2-burner gas grill, light 1 burner. If using 3-burner gas grill, do not light center burner. If using charcoal grill, light briquettes in chimney and pour onto 1 side of lower grill rack. Place disposable aluminum pan on unlit part of grill. Place upper grill rack on barbecue; brush with oil.
Remove chicken from marinade. Arrange skin side up on grill rack above drip pan. Cover barbecue; grill until skin is browned and instant-read thermometer inserted into thickest part of thigh registers 165°F, turning often, about 40 minutes. Transfer to platter. Pour warm glaze over.

Black Forest Cake Recipe

This black forest cake is one of the tempting cakes which can be prepared for special occasions. Though many of you prefer to buy or order it from store as its decoration needs some time and skills but it can be easily prepare at home if you spend some time. This recipe of black forest cake is simple and easy so that you can celebrate any event at home with this delicious homemade cake.

Ingredients:

For Sponge:
6 eggs (separated)
6 oz caster sugar
6 oz all purpose flour
2 tsp baking powder
2 tsp coco powder
2 tbsp milk
For Filling and Topping:
2 cup dairy cream
1 cup icing sugar
2 medium size peaches (chopped)
1 cup water
Red cherries as required
1 cup grated chocolate

Preparation:

1. Beat eggs for 8-10 mins until become foamy and white.
2. Gradually add sugar and beat to make a thick creamy batter
3. Sift together flour, baking powder and coco powder, slowly add it to the egg mixture and fold the batter with the dry mixture using soft hands so that the batter would not sit and remain fluffy otherwise your sponge will not make soft and light. For better mixing you should fold the batter in clockwise direction and don’t apply pressure to the spatula mix only with light hands.
4. Now take a circular or rectangular baking pan and grease and dust with flour. Pour the batter into this pan and then place in preheated oven for 30-35 mins at 350 degrees F until become done.
5. Meanwhile prepare peach sauce, for that you need to cook peaches with water and half cup of sugar for 8-10 mins until sugar mix completely into the water and the sauce gets little thick.
6. Now beat the dairy cream with remaining sugar for 2-3 mins to make it whipped cream.
7. When the sponge has been done cool it to room temperature and then divide it into two pieces from the center.
8. Pour the prepared peach juice on both the pieces of cake to make them moist, then take the lower piece and spread 1/3 amount of whipped cream on it to cover the top surface and sprinkle the chunks of peaches onto the cream.
9. Carefully place the upper piece of cake onto it and then cover it with remaining whipped cream from every side smoothly. Sprinkle the grated chocolate on top and sides of the cake so that it sticks to the cream and then top with red cherries.
10. Now place the tempting black forest cake in fridge to set for at least 30 mins then serve it by cutting into pieces.

Easy Potato Soup

This easy potato soup is prepared with mainly shredded potatoes and veggies hence become easy to prepare at home in short time. Use of baked potato is not necessary as shredded potatoes are already used in this recipe. You may adjust the quantity of cream and cheese according to your taste.

Ingredients: 

5 medium size potatoes (peeled and shredded)
1 large whole potato (baked and cut into small cubes)
1 small onion, chopped
1 red bell pepper (chopped)
2 cup spring onions (chopped)
4 cups chicken stock
Salt and pepper to taste
1 tsp hot pepper sauce
½ cup cream
Cheddar cheese for garnishing

Preparation:

1. Take chicken broth in a deep sauce pan and add veggies including shredded potatoes, onion, bell pepper and spring onion and bring to boil at medium heat.
2. Add baked potato cubes and cook for further 5 mins.
3. Now add seasoning of salt, pepper and hot pepper sauce and simmer for 5 mins.
4. In the end add cream and remove the pan from heat. Stir it well in the soup to mix evenly.
5. Pour the soup in serving bowl and garnish with cheddar cheese and parsley.
